Yeaaah! I reckon this might be the first meal I ever cooked (well helped) when I was about 3 or 4. Mashed potatoes, ham and cheese, with a well with ketchup in, and a sunshine of chicken fingers. Oh it brings back memories!

And this is what the kitchen looked like after a morning of making Andy’s cakes. Lucky I had time to clean before mum got back, I think she would have killed me.
Andy’s 40th birthday cake spread. He doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth, so the cake was a carrot cake with tangy cream cheese frosting.
The tray bake was a bit of a hap-hazard lets see what ingredients need using up.
I completely made up the brownie ball recipe, I was really worried that they would be gross, but they vanished first, good times… apart from they look a bit weird. In my head chocolate buttons were smaller so would have fit better. Note to Cadbury’s, need mini buttons!
The spaghetti and meatballs are not really meat, like some people thought. They are ferrero rochers, and they looked pretty good in person.
Driving from Watford to Hemel with this in my car was a difficult drive! I lost a few footballs out the door :P but I made it with most of the stuff still intact.
I made a kick ass choux pastry! I tried it once before and it was more like crackers. I think I mastered it. Not very uniform, but bloody good. I didn’t get any photos of the eclairs filled and iced, they maybe went in my mouth a bit too quick.
I made half with banana creme patissiere, with caramel on top. And the other half with creme patissiere and fresh strawberry icing on top. So good!
I made sweet potato, cauliflower and spinach dahl, minus any coriander, because its gross. It looks kind of icky, but it tasted really good!
I met Quentin Blake at The Folio Society andThe House of Illustration awards ceremony. I was a lil drunk and extremely excited, I think I might have scared him a little. Apparently his bright white shoes are like a trademark.
The Folio Society and House of Illustration awards, at Collyer Bristow Gallery, London.
It was a very fun night, with free booze flowing, which always helps with nerves. Got to meet some really cool people.
Award ceremony is in 2 days, so unprepared!
House of Illustration and Folio Society’s awards ceremony for The Bloody Chamber is on tuesday up in London. I’m really nervous! No idea what kind of thing it will be. I’m in the midst of making some jewellery for the event. And I need to make some form of business card, I’m sure I will need to hand out something. Not quite sure what though. I’m brainstorming…. I’m sure I will pull something out the hat!
After loosing my lovely Evie (-pevie) to cancer, I got a new baby rat named Arya, or noodle because of her tiny tale. This was the first meeting between Arya and my existing 3. Jaz (fatty-bo-jangles) who is chilling inside the cage in these pics; Jess, Arya’s new besty lol; and Roxy the brown headed one. Jaz has got super protective over her, and does this weird fluffing up thing whenever Arya is taken away and put back. I think she wants babies :( awww. I love my ratties, but they have to stay in the garage over the summer because my mum has a heart attack if she knows they are near.
Some puff pastry things. I put chicken, bacon, onion, cheese, few other bits, and a home-made honey mustard sauce. I do love honey mustard, but hate both separate.
